1825George Thompson set up the Aberdeen Line to operate timber and passenger ships between Aberdeen (Scotland) and Canada
1842Sailings between London and Australia started
1905Company controlled by White Star Line and Shaw, Savill & Albion
1933Takeover of the Australian Commonwealth shipping line led to the creation of Aberdeen & Commonwealth line
1936Furness Withy and Co shipping group took over ownership of the line
1938The Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line name disappeared
1957The last of the Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line ships (Largs Bay and Moreton Bay) were scrapped.
