1911Blue Star Line formed by the Vestey family of Liverpool to carry beef from South America to the UK, later carrying passengers
1920The first "star" vessel, Albion Star was launched
1933Services to Australia and New Zealand began
1944-46Blue Star Line purchased the Lamport & Holt and Booth Line shipping companies
1972Passenger services to South America end
1998Blue Star Line sold to P&O Nedlloyd
2003The last vessel carrying the Blue Star line colours, America Star, broken up
