Unique ID:3999
Description:Photograph. The first cinema in Park Street opened in a converted building in 1913. It was called the Cinema Hall, changing its name to the Regent the following year. This cinema closed in 1929 and was replaced by a new cinema, also called the Regent, in 1932. The new cinema had entrances in Park Street and the High Street. The High Street entrance (seen in this photograph) was originally a shop. When the cinema closed in 1961 the entrance was converted back into a shop. The cinema itself is now Sainsbury's Supermarket.
