Description:Photograph. In 1919 the Alexandra Towing Company of Liverpool began operations in Southampton at the invitation of Cunard. Since then towing duties in the port have been shared between Alexandra and Red Funnel. This photograph shows two Alexander Towing Co. tugs. Romsey was built 1964 by Richard Dunston of Hessle on the Humber and joined Alexander's Southampton fleet in July of that year. North Loch was built by Yarwood and Sons of Northwich, Cheshire in 1958-59.
