"ANNIE BEATON."
FINDING of a Court of Inquiry held at Cossack, Western Australia, on this 7th day of January 1881, for the purpose of inquiring into the circumstances under which the schooner "ANNIE BEATON" received damage on or about the 17th January 1881.
Present:
R. J. SHOLL, Sub-Collector of Customs.
F. PEARSE, Justice of Peace.
We find that the "Annie Beaton," commanded by John Abbott, was caught by a hurricane in lat. 21.43 S. and long. 113.40 E., when she lost her foremast, maintopmast, bowsprit, and sails. We consider that no blame can be attached to Capt. Abbott, who used every exertion to save the vessel.
(Signed)
R. J. SHOLL, Sub-Collector.
F. PEARSE, Justice of Peace.
Cossack, 17th January 1881.
