Then one foreman in particular, he used to go in the pub, I could name the pub but I shan't. And there was always 6, 7 or 8, 10 pints of beer lined up there, 'this ones from Mr so and so, this one's from Mr so and so and this..' and that used to go on with him for quite a long long time. Consequently those men always knew that when they were working with him that he would give them the full amount of work and keep them employed as long as possible, and that thing went ... I'm afraid that a certain amount of that went on in those days. Not entirely mind, ... most foremen were pretty good.
